Datamine: Fit for a King

Datamine is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert King as he joins the team in the Auckland headquarters as a Datamart Developer.

“Robert is a bit of a maths whiz,” says Cliff Ashford, Datamine’s technical services manager. “He’s an all-rounder with a healthy work-life balance and will fit into the team nicely.”

Robert has been a maths tutor for the University of Canterbury teaching mainly first year maths papers for the last two years. Prior to that he completed a BSc from the University of Canterbury with maths and computer science majors.

“I’m interested to learn how data can be analysed to make good business decisions and am looking forward to the variety of work at Datamine so life doesn’t get too repetitive,” says Robert, who sees a huge opportunity for companies like Datamine now that technology and smart phones in particular are used more in daily life.

As somewhat driven personality, he completed the programming challenges workshop to train for programming contests, as well as the ACM South Pacific contest.

With a history of sporting success, including the Sissons intermediate sportsman of the year award while at St Kentigern’s College and being made a member the NZ team for cycling, Datamine is looking forward to Robert’s competitive spirit being applied to help clients succeed.
