Datamine to open Auckland Office

Wellington based company, Datamine Limited, is due to open an Auckland office later this year. The new office is in response to customer demand from the Auckland market. Initially with three staff the office is expected to grow to 6 - 8 staff within 12 months. Datamine's Wellington office will continue to service their Wellington and international client base.

Datamine, established by a group of young visionaries in 1995, has grown to become one of New Zealand's leading data mining organisations, specialising in the extraction and analysis of customer database information.

For those in the know, data mining is the way to turn information into gold. Put simply, data mining is the extraction and analysis of information from commercial databases. Data mining has major significance for marketers because it can unearth more detail than ever before about customers, about markets, about products and about profitability.

The increased knowledge made possible by data mining is invaluable in pinpointing marketing strategies. Trends and patterns can be clearly identified, and predictions can be made about future customer behaviour. Customer loyalty can be increased, products themselves can be improved, and less effort is wasted communicating with the wrong people.

One of Datamine's two founding directors, Paul O'Connor, says the company started out with himself and one other employee. Today it has 19 full-time staff and has delivered an average revenue growth rate of 92.4% over the past three years.

Since its inception Datamine has worked with some of New Zealand and Australia's leading corporates, predominantly in the telecommunications, insurance and financial services industry sectors.

And it is now expanding its horizons to the Asia Pacific region, working remotely to bring home-based smart solutions to the world.

Datamine's expansion into the Auckland market is spurred by a desire to further develop relationships with existing Auckland based clients, and to met the growing demand in this region.
